Obituary of Willard Wilson Lane

LANE, WILLARD:  Suddenly at home on Saturday, July 15, 2017, Willard Wilson Lane passed away at the age of 80.  Willard was the beloved husband of Margaret Sarah Lane (nee Harper) for 58 years, and a loving father to Cheryl Mojeski (John), Sandra Daniels (Doug), Sharon Carrier (Jacques), Rob Lane (Joanna), Marsha Tufford (Hussein Mahmut), and the late Michelle Lane (1974).  Cherished by his grandchildren Meagan Heirwegh (Chris), Jillian Mojeski, Kyle Daniels, Andrew Daniels, Matthew Carrier (Bei), Jeremy Carrier, Christina Carrier, Alicia Post (Kees), Brittany Lane, Candace Lane, and great grandchildren Harper Heirwegh, Madison Carrier, Eli Post, and Abigail Post.  He will also be missed by his sister Joyce Short and sister-in-law Linda Dickinson.  Willard will be remembered as a teacher, mentor and head of the science and math department at South Lincoln High School and for his dedication to coaching football and hockey in his school and community.  A private family interment service will be held at Lane's Cemetery.  The family extends an invitation to a celebration of life open house by returning to the SLHS football field (under the tent), to share memories and time's spent with Willard, on Saturday, July 29 from 1 - 4 p.m. rain or shine.  If desired, memorial donations to Lane's Cemetery would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
