Condolences
Samantha, I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to visit with you and your mom on a few occasions and shared a birthday Celebration with you. I remember one visit your room was all decorated for Halloween, I enjoyed watching your smiles as we looked around the room and chatted about the decorations. As I listened and learned from all the loving stories your mom talked to us about you, I could visualize how much you are loved and given the most cherish life of love and comfort from all whom have had the opportunity to spend time with you. Rest In Peace
Lots of love from Linda Randall
I was one of many Personal Support Workers that had the privilege of caring for Sam at Silverthorn. Some of the memories with her I'll never forget were when she would knock all of the cups off of the carts in the dinning room and laugh eveytime she did it (she knew exactly what she was doing lol) or how excited she got when there were snacks, she would stuff her face with bowls of cheetos getting cheese dust all over her face or how I would have to watch my feet in case she would run them over haha Her laugh and smile always brightened every room she went into and I'll never forget the mark she left on me and all the staff at Silverthorn <33 Untill next time <3
It doesn't matter how long a person lives, whether 30 years or 90, when we love them, we always want more: one more whispered conversation, one more shared laugh, one more hug. But when we love someone and we can see they are suffering, we let them go even though our hearts are broken. Right now we can be sure that Samantha is entirely well and in very good hands indeed. In time, may the pain that is felt at her loss be transformed into pure gratitude for her time with you. In fewer than 30 years, Samantha touched hearts and changed lives for the better forever. You would have kept her with you forever if you could, but I'm sure everyone who knew her is so very grateful she was "theirs" for a while. I'm so glad I got to meet Samantha too, even if it was when she was in "God's waiting room". Welcome home, Sam! (Rev. Trish Archibald, Chaplain, Niagara Health, St. Catharines site)
