Condolences
Bubba was one of those umpires that you looked forward to getting for a game.
Whether you were chatting about ball or being tossed from a game - Bubba was always fun to be around. We hope that the Pirates gave him some fun and laughs over the years. Rest in peace Bill...xo
My friend Bill was known so wildly in the SPN family of umpires. He worked for years umpiring many friends and is a huge loss to many. I was fortunate enough to run into him and Carole a couple of times in the last couple of months. His heart was always talking umpiring and wanted to return someday. He mentioned how much he missed so many people. Carole was a wonderful support for Bill and looked after him for quite some time. Bill, you leave many wonderful fun memories on and off the ball diamonds over many years. Glad you are no longer in the pain and suffering I had seen in the last while. Until we meet again. RIP
My sincere condolences to the entire family. A lot of great memories. Sonya
I went to SLHS with Bubba. He was a very kind person who always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts are with the Grant Family during this very sad and difficult time. With deepest sympathy, Darlene Cavers
We are shocked to hear of Bill’s passing and send our condolences to Bob, Dave, and families. So many memories of Bill as a pleasant and polite teenager when we lived next door to the Grant family on Morgan Street. He was always coming and going somewhere but could take a moment to say hi. Our thoughts are with you during this sad time.
