Condolences
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He and my aunt Gail Rusnell worked together at highschool, she was an English Teacher and he would pass her in the hall calling her cousin. Well as it turned out we were cousins through the Rusnell family. He spent hours with me to help me build our family tree and provided wonderful pictures to put faces to the names on our family tree. I remember we had a wonderful day visiting his sister in Niagara. Hugs to his family and Rest in Peace Cousin Jim.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jim as he was a big part of my young life as he was my my Big Brother. That is, a mentor and friend to a boy who did not have a father. Jim was my Big Brother for I think 4-5 years and and have great memories of our time together. I remember meeting his parents at the house in Smithville and learning about bees and photography come his dad. I also remember meet another member of the family and they had a roll player piano, in NF I believe. He inspired me so much in that I to also became a Big Brother to a boy myself as I knew how much I enjoyed doing things with him and had to share that happiness that Jim showed me. My condolences and if possible please let me know when a celebration of Jim’s life is held as I would like to attend. Again sorry for your loss.

You will be missed Uncle Jim. Your contagious laughter always put smiles on our faces. Can't wait to see you again in heaven. Love Mark, Sue, Kevin, and Katie.
I’m sorry to read of Jim’s passing. I met him twice in relation to Dyment genealogy. I visited Rusty and him at his home in Niagara Falls where he graciously shared so much of the Dyment information that he had collected over the years. Some time later I joined him to visit my aunt Jean Dyment Hall in Guelph. I know that he will be missed by those that he loved and who loved him.
Rest In Peace Jim.

My deepest sympathy to the family. As a WMT student in the late 70's and early 80's I was fortunate to know "Mr. Dyment". He was a gentle soul and a positive, happy teacher. I also want to share that he was Cool, a descriptor that might not leap to the minds of those who knew him well, but he did stock the library with The Sex Pistols, Never Mind the Bullocks. I rest my case.
Rest In Peace Jim.
This is a sad time for all. Jim was a scholar and a gentleman. He will be missed by those that had the privilege to know him.
We will certainly miss his genealogical updates and discussions.

Jim and his Mom and Dad Norman and Mildred Dyment were our neighbours, just down West Street. I talked with Jim about 10 years ago while he was trying to add more information for a book about the history of Smithville. My Dad Gordon Killins used to own the Red and White Grocery Store in town, then Dad went on to be the Township Clerk. I so loved your family. Doreen, I use to babysit your children in the summer when they visited their Grandma and Grandpa. Just a wonderful family and I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Sending our deepest sympathy, Jamie and Lee Ramage (nee-Killins).
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jim Dyment. He was my neighbour for many years in early life. Jim was a member of the committee that published the history book called "Memories of Smithville". Jim's hometown. Please let me know when a service would be held. The family has my condolences.
