MATYS, Elisabeth:  Peacefully at Deer Park Villa in Grimsby on Friday, September 13, 2019, Elisabeth Catharina Matys (nee Dewaide) of Smithville passed away at the age of 83.  Beloved wife of the late John Matys (2013) and the late Wilhelmus VanMulken (1980).  Loving mother of Marjo Daniels (Rob Williams), and Mike VanMulken (Kim), and stepmother of Barb Cosby (Rob), Bruce Matys (Pam), and Christine Matys-Ballanger (Andrew Brown).  Cherished grandmother of ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Also remembered by her siblings Mia VanGlabbeek (the late Piet), Bert Dewaide (Fien), and Harrij Dewaide (Marianne), all of the Netherlands.  Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Monday, September 16 from 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 17 at 11 a.m.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Memorial donations to West Lincoln Memorial Auxiliary or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family and if desired can be made through the funeral home.
