Condolences
To everyone who has supported us following the recent passing of Linda, we would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation. Your many acts of kindness and sympathy continue to be a great solace to us in our time of sorrow. It was touching and more comforting than you know to see so many faces from present and past over the visitation and ceremony. Our homes were filled with the gifts, cards, notes and the beautiful flowers she would have loved herself. We also wish to thank the St Joseph's Nursing Home Care and the West Lincoln Fire Department and Paramedics who provided exceptional care.
Your kind words and stories posted on this website have provided warmth and reflection and are helping us to heal.
With love, Bert, Jason, Nicki & Family

Dear Bert and family,

Dearest Bert and family,
My sincere condolences with the sudden loss of your beloved wife Linda. We only met once, when my father Jan and I surprised your father Kees with a visit. It was a long time ago, but I remember we visited your house and had dinner. I’m very sorry for your loss, and wish you strength and love and support, Francis, Singapore.
Linda was such a warm and beautiful person to know. Any time I would come over to Owen and Nicki's for a get-together, party or Danish Christmas Celebration and Linda was there, she would always come over with open arms, a big genuine smile and a compliment. She ALWAYS had something lovely to say to you. She was warm and kind and the love for her children and her grandchildren just radiated off of her--you could always catch Linda looking proudly and adoringly at them.
I will miss seeing her smiling face and the conversations about the birds on their property and funny stories from her life with Bert. Seeing two people who so genuinely loved each other, still, after all these years gave you hope that true love does exist.
May you rest in peace, Linda. Your memory will be cherished by your beautiful family, and by all of us who were fortunate to have known you.
Our sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved one. Keeping all in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Linda.
So sorry to hear of Linda's passing. I'll always remember her from the big barn sales, always so friendly and she loved to talk. She will be dearly missed.
Condolences to you all -our thoughts are with you.
Dear Bert, Paul, Karen, Joanne and Murray,
Condolences to you all, your children and extended families. We're all very sorry to learn of Linda's sudden passing. Linda and the Nyby family are a big link to my childhood and teenage years as we shared the bond of growing up in Danish families in Canada. We could relate to each other as we both ate strange foods the average Canadian would ridicule or shared some other odd customs outside the normal. And then our parent's Danish accents and weird names! Only immigrant's children can relate. Bert, you can probably give us the Dutch version.
I have memories of our parents trading us kids off for a few days at a time. That was always fun especially because you had a pony! I think the last time I saw Linda and Bert was in Ken and Norma's backyard a few years ago. It had been years in between but we just started laughing and talking like it was yesterday. Like good friends do.
My sympathy to all of your families,
Steve
