LANE, CHARLES: At Albright Centre in Beamsville on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, Charles Lane in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Viola Lane (nee Bent). Loving father of George and Glenna Lane, Margaret and Bruce Merritt, Earl and Rose Lane, and Shirley and Albert Smith. Cherished by grandchildren Mark (Sue), Kathy (Paul), Donna (Dan), Marty (Shanie), Cynthia (James), Nicole (Jason), Dan (Tracy), Karyn (Steve), Jason (Charlie), Marvin (Carole), Steven (Wanda), James (Teena) and 24 great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by other family members in England and Wales. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Caistor Centre Free Methodist Church (corner of Regional Roads 65 and 6) on Friday, March 28 with visitation 12:30-1:30 pm and the service beginning at 1:30 pm. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. If desired, memorial contributions to Caistor Centre Free Methodist Church would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
