To the children of Mrs. Bea Steltman,

Your mother and mine were friends for so many years and, still today the memories of the friendship between your parents and mine linger. It was more than a social friendship -- they shared the bond of faith. For that we shall always be grateful.

I cannot attend the visitation and funeral tomorrow and use this means to extend my condolences to all of you. Condolences, yes, but also -- congratulations! Your mother's race has been run and the Lord has graciously taken her to himself. Even when she could no longer remember her God, He remembered her.

May the Lord grant you strength and comfort in the days to come.
