Obituary of Sophia Aiello

AIELLO, SOPHIA (nee Panagopoulos):  Passed away peacefully with family at her side at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the age of 44 after a long battle with cancer.  Beloved wife of Ralph Aiello.  Cherished daughter of Sam and Giota Panagopoulos.  Dearly loved sister of Gus Panagopoulos.  Dear daughter-in-law of Frank and Caterina Aiello.  Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday, July 11 from 5-9 p.m. with Prayers at 7:30 p.m.  The funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12 for the Divine Liturgy which will be celebrated at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara Street, St. Catharines beginning at 11 a.m.  Interment Smithville United Church Cemetery.  If desired, memorial donations to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church or Juravinski Hospital can be made through the funeral home.
