Condolences
I worked with Bob for 4 years at the Wesley Christmas store and saw many, many times over, one of the kindest people I've ever known. He kept the volunteers organized and worked harder than anyone else but above all, the kindness he showed to the clients who came to the store was truly wonderful. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. I remember one day, a family brought their children in to drop off toy donations. Bob greeted them and thanked them profusely and explained to those children what a wonderful thing they were doing to help others. I couldn't help but think that those children will continue to help others mostly due to Bob's kind words to them. Kindness personified was Bob Harkness.
Our condolences to the Harkness family.Hope your memories of your dad will make this time a little less painful for your family. Those memories are what sustain us at a time of loss! Hugs from Hank and Kathy Wetselaar
Joan, it has been so many years since we last saw you and Bob BUT we have vivid memories of our special time with you when we hiked together in Austria those 7 days in 1994 ...It was a delightful time and Bob was right on the mark with his fluency in German and organized travel notes. He taught Pat and me so well how to travel efficiently. His travel suggestions cont'd with us forever whenever we went on a trip. We are so sorry for your loss after 61 years of an eventful and rich marriage. Our condolences to your children and grandchildren too....
Much love, Pat and Sylvia Lennon
