Obituary of Arthur Nicholaas VanderVelde

VANDERVELDE, ARTHUR: Surrounded by his loving wife and family, the Lord called home unto Himself in His perfect timing, Arthur Nicholaas VanderVelde on Sunday, August 14, 2016 in his 62nd year, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years Jeanie (nee Bos), cherished father of Jolene and Rod Tenhage, Christina and Willem Aanjtes, Shelley and Ben De Jager, Nick and Elaine VanderVelde, Amanda and Matt Stoffels. He also leaves behind 17 loving grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Dianne DeBoer, Henry and Ellen VanderVelde, Leona VanderVelde, Irene and John Shutten, Joanne and Henry Kiers, Betsy and Harry Porter, Ricki and Jerry Blokker, Fred and Evelyn VanderVelde, Hennie and Andrew Vos. Also survived by in-laws Don and Tiena Bos, Ietie and Adrian Koster, John and Carol Bos, Richard and Margaret Bos, Rennie and John Linde, Fred and Margaret Bos, the late Ricki Bos, Tina and John Dekker, Ed and Trish Bos. Predeceased by parents Fredrik and Fennegien VanderVelde, his brother John VanderVelde, and brothers-in-law Harry Brouwer and Mike DeBoer. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Smithville Canadian Reformed Church, 330 Station Street, Smithville. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 18, at 11 a.m at the Smithville Canadian Reformed Church. Private interment will precede the service. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Reformed School of your choice would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
