SMITH, STELLA: At Kilean Lodge in Grimsby on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, Jessie Stella Smith (nee Checkley) of Smithville passed away in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Albert George Smith. Loving mother of Norman Smith (Darlene), Shirley Pacella (Guido), and Robert Smith (Bonnie). Dear grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also survived by sister-in-law Irene Checkley. Predeceased by her siblings Mac, Fred, Margaret and Norman Checkley. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday, June 9 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, June 10 from 1-2 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 10 at 2 p.m. with interment at Kimbo Cemetery, Smithville. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
