Obituary of Bernardus Gerardus Van Huis

VAN HUIS, BEN: At McNally House Hospice in Grimsby on Thursday, May 28, 2015, Bernardus Gerardus Van Huis of Smithville was called Home to be with his Lord and Saviour in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Henriette (Hetty) Van Huis (nee Bijlsma) for 60 years. Loving father of Harold Van Huis, Henriette Buitenwerf (Peter), Darlene Izon (John) and Ben Van Huis (Char). Cherished grandpa of 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by sister in laws Froukje Van Huis and Joanne Van Huis. Predeceased by his parents Hielko Van Huis and Trientje de Vries, his siblings Albert Van Huis, Annie Kolkman, and Dick Van Huis, and infant granddaughter Allison Izon. Visitation at Wellandport United Reformed Church (74082 Wellandport Road) on Sunday, May 31 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Church on Monday, June 1 at 11 a.m. Private interment will precede the service. If desired, memorial donations to Mid American Reformed Seminary would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
