APOSTOLAKOS, ANASTASIOS: Surrounded by his family, on Friday, March 17, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Anastasios (Tasso) Apostolakos of Smithville, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Filanthi (Phyllis) Panagakos. Loving father of Peter Apostolakos and his fiancé Nelly, and of Maria and her husband Sergio Bianchin. Cherished grandfather of Gianni, Thomas and Melina. Dear brother of Angela Vassilakos of Smithville (and the late Peter Vassilakos), and of Panagiotis and Meni Apostolakos and Sarantos and Maria Apostolakos of Greece. Predeceased by sisters Georgia Giannakos and Potitsa Georgiadou. Prayers were held on Sunday evening at Merritt Funeral Home in Smithville. The funeral service was held at 11 am on Monday, March 20, 2006 at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in St. Catharines. Interment Smithville United Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church (for the church building fund) would be appreciated by the family.
