ABRAMS, GERTRUDE: Peacefully at home with loved ones present, Dorothy Gertrude Abrams (nee Lyman) in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Earl Frederick Abrams. Loving mother of Minnie Sobotka and Ziggman, Stewart Abrams and Dorothy, Arnold Abrams and Sandy, Donald Abrams and Edith, Carol Chilcott and Jim, and Eleanor Robertson. Cherished grandmother of 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild (and one on the way). Dear sister-in-law of Pat Abrams. Predeceased by her sons Frederick Abrams and Richard Abrams, four brothers and two sisters. The family received friends at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 7-9 pm. The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Friday, March 31st at 1:30 pm. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Wellandport. If desired, memorial contributions to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
