McLAREN, JANE (Jean) CARGILL nee Denny: On Saturday, December 9, 2006, at the Millennium Trail Manor, Niagara Falls, Ontario at 98 ½ years young, Jean quietly passed away. Beloved wife of the late George H. R. McLaren (1980) and loving mother of Alan (Joanne) McLaren, Margaret (Chuck) Witherington, and Douglas (Susan) McLaren. Grandmother of Kinsey McLaren, Kyle McLaren, Ryan McLaren, Charlie (Lisa) Witherington, Annette (Marko) Heitmeyer, Laura Witherington, Robin (Pierre) Trudel, and Cameron (Erica) McLaren, and great-grandmother of Justin, Crystal, Katelyn, Coral, Marina and Joshua. A long time resident of Hamilton Beach and Smithville, she was loved by all who knew her. Jean was a kind and gentle lady every day of her life. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13 at 11 am. Interment St. Luke's Anglican Church Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
