Obituary of John Archibald Carbert

CARBERT, JOHN:  Peacefully with family at his side at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, on Friday, August 22, 2014, John Archibald Carbert of Hamilton, formerly of Ancaster passed away in his 88th year.   Beloved husband of the late Jenny Carbert (nee Kazienko, 1983).  Loving father of Trish (Nick), Tracy (Tim), Tim (Toni), Gail, Kim, Carol, and Wayne.  Cherished grandfather of Rhys, Jenny, Evan, Brandi, Brooke, Matthew, Michael, Jodi, Roy and great-grandfather of Jacob and Carter.   Dear brother of Blanche (Ben), Jean (the late Jim) and Neil (Evelyn), and brother-in-law of Phyllis.  John will be dearly missed by his loving friend Janet Leblanc-Wouters and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his brothers Ray, Don and sister Lillian (the late Lloyd).  In keeping with his wishes, an open invitation is extended to family and friends to share their memories and celebrate John's life at the Royal Canadian Legion (Battlefield), 12 King Street East, Stoney Creek on Friday, August 29 beginning at 10 am, followed by a Legion memorial service at 11 am.  Cremation has taken place.  If desired, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion (Battlefield) would be appreciated by the family and can be made through Merritt Funeral Home.
