DEHAAN, EDWARD: As a result of a tragic snowmobile accident on Sunday, February 17, 2013, Edward John DeHaan of Smithville is now with his Lord and Saviour. Ed was the loving husband and best friend of Wilma DeHaan (nee VanSoelen) for 26 years. He was the loving and caring father of Chantel and Cody Poliquin, Jessica and her fiance Kyle Wasilyn, Nick and his girlfriend Tralayna Weaver, and Emily. He was the proud new grandfather of Colby. Ed was the cherished son of John DeHaan and the late Trinka DeHaan (1980) and Alice DeHaan (2009). Dearly loved brother of Pete and Grace DeHaan, Ann and Dale Traver, Kevin and Laura DeHaan, Grace and Wayne Roorda, Cindy and Dean Swick, and Ann Nienhuis and Dave Bacher; son-in-law of Cor and Ina VanSoelen and the late Artje VanSoelen; brother-in-law of Rita and Larry Skeleton, Anne and Rocky Rutherford, Liz and Al Hessels, Terry Vermeer, Brian and Wendy Kremer, Clare and Tracey VanSoelen, Ann and Otto Wyga, and Ed Rauwerda. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Corrie Vermeer and Michele Rauwerda and nephews Mark Nienhuis and Tyler Kremer. Ed was much loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main Street East, Grimsby on Thursday, February 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service on Friday, February 22 at 2:30 pm at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church. Private family interment at Riverside Cemetery, Wellandport will precede the service.
