BALLANTYNE, ALFRED: Peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on Saturday, March 3, 2012, Alfred Ray Ballantyne of West Lincoln passed away in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Leta (nee Packham) for 66 years. Loving father of Robert Ballantyne (Joan) of Fenwick, Joanne Baguley (Gordon) of Ancaster, Neil Ballantyne (Susan) of Caledonia, and Terence Ballantyne (Sandra) of Beamsville. Cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Norman Ballantyne (Shirley), Gladys Krick, Mabel Pearce (Desmond), and Ina Dodson (Edward). Predeceased by granddaughter Amber Ballantyne (1986). Special thanks to CCAC nurses Leonna and Barb. Visitation for friends and family will be held at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday, March 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm . The funeral service will be held at Caistorville United Church (York Road, near Caistorville Road) on Thursday, March 8 at 11:30 am. Private interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will precede the service. If desired, memorial contributions to Caistorville United Church would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
