ATKINSON, ROBERT: As a result of a tragic accident on Sunday, October 21, 2012, Robert Douglas Atkinson of Hannon passed away in his 29th year. Beloved father of Kennedy and friend of her mother Jeanelle. Loving son of Sandra Atkinson (Hayward Moores) and Robert Atkinson (Lynn). Dear brother of Sara Atkinson. Cherished grandson of Elaine and Doug Law, and Noreen Atkinson (and the late Robert). He will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25 at 11 am at Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Road 20), Smithville. Private inurnment at Waite Cemetery, Abingdon at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to a fund for daughter Kennedy would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Donations for Kennedy can be made out to either Jeanelle Gaudette or Robert Atkinson (Roberts father).
