RAVENSBERGEN, GERRIT (GERRY): Surrounded by loved ones at home, was taken up by the Lord to eternal glory on April 4th 2011 at the age of 70. His 4 year battle with cancer is now ended. He is survived by his beloved wife Tina Ravensbergen (nee Oosterhoff) of 45 years. Loving father of Pete & Tammy Ravensbergen (nee Ludwig), Janine & Bob Janssens, William & Tracy Ravensbergen (nee Brinkman), Alex & Shanna Ravensbergen (nee Bartels), Eric & Roze Ravensbergen (nee Bergsma), Andrew Ravensbergen & Joelene Bergsma. Cherished by his 20 grandchildren. Gerrit will also be sadly missed by his siblings Tina & John Bartels, Rolie & Bep Ravensbergen (nee Hoogland), Ann & Clarence Hopman, Magda Ravensbergen (nee Maan) (Peter 1986), Sophia & Gerry Schuller, Jane & Frank Schuller, Cora & Gary VanIperen, Jake & Marie Ravensbergen (nee Jansema), and Wilma & Mel Brouwer, and by his inlaws Linda Engbers (Oosterhoff), Tina VanDieren , Jack & Elly Schutten (Oosterhoff), Gerhard & Elizabeth Schutten (Oosterhoff), Freda Oosterhoff, Conrad & Anne Van Andel, Peter & Nelly Oosterhoff, Jake & Nel Oosterhoff, and Albert Oosterhoff. Predeceased by son Bernard James, brother Peter Jr, and parents Pieter and Sophia. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Grassie Covenant Canadian Reformed Church, 480 Woolverton Road, Grimsby (corner of Woolverton and Mud Street). The funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11 am. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will precede the service. If desired, memorial contributions to Anchor Home or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home. ~ Psalm 16 ~
