SOURDOU, DOROTHEA: At Deer Park Villa in Grimsby on Friday, August 17, 2007, Dorothea Sourdou (Malelis) passed away in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Gregory Sourdos. Loving mother of Alex Sourdos and his wife Viki of Grimsby, Evangelia Caldwell and her husband Richard of Toronto, daughter-in-law Evangelia Sourdou of Greece, and son-in-law Gabrial Gabrilidis of Greece. Cherished by her ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Pantelis Malelis and his wife Demetra of Greece, and sister-in-law Agapi Malelis of Syracuse, New York, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son George Sourdos, daughter Chrisathi Gabrilidis, grandson Stavros Gabrilidis and brother Stefanos Malelis. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday, August 21, from 2-4 and 7-9pm with Prayers at 7:30pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara Street (at the corner of Linwell), St. Catharines. Interment Smithville United Church Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church or Deer Park Villa would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
