MCDANIEL, JAMES: At West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, James Doyle McDaniel of Smithville in his 79th year. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (Jacqui) McDaniel (nee McDougall). Dear friend of Rose Butler. Loving father of Sherri Keck (Gary), Christine McDaniel (Jim Leeming) and Sean McDaniel (Dianne). Cherished grandfather of Crystal, Samantha, Jacob and Heather and great grandfather of MyKendra. Dear brother of Jackie Hadley. Predeceased by his son Scott and daughter Victoria. Jim served proudly in the US Navy from 1948-1952. Friends may call at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, with a legion service at 6:30pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19 at 11 am at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be held at Smithville United Church at a future date. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
