VANDERLIEK, CATHARINA HUBERTINA: Passed away peacefully at Holland Christian Homes on Friday, January 8th, 2010 in her 90th year. Predeceased by husband Albert Vanderliek (2007). Beloved mother of Cathy and her husband Dave Johnson of Hamilton, Ont., Trudi and her husband Bob Franks of Bridgenorth, Ont., and Joe Vanderliek and his wife Silvia of Langley, BC. Cherished grandmother of Cindy, Jim, Aaron, Nicole, Daniela, Nicola, Justin and great-grandmother to Jake and Andrew. Cathy immigrated from Zuid Limburg, Holland with her family in 1961. She worked side by side with her husband, the owners of the Red and White grocery store in Smithville for 20 years. She enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and time with good friends. She was a great listener and always supportive. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the staff of Holland Christian Homes and Grace Manor, Brampton, Ont. Friends will be received by the family at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville, Ont. on Thursday, January 14 from 12-1 pm. The funeral liturgy will follow at 1 pm. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will follow the service at Union Cemetery, Smithville. If desired, memorial contributions to Holland Christian Homes would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
