JAMES, JOSEPH: With his family by his side, at McNally House in Grimsby, on Monday, May 10, 2010, Joseph Worthy James of Smithville, in his 96th year. Beloved husband of Pearl James (nee Silverthorne) for 70 years. Loving father of Howard and Betty James, and of Joyce and Jim Sheldrake. Cherished grandfather of Terri, Robbi (Dave), Dennis (Kim), Dale (Petra), Debbie (Vince), Len, Jodi (Scott), 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Joan Burtch and brothers Gilbert and Nathan. Joe will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 6-9 pm. The memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 14 at 11 am. Cremation has taken place. Private interment Union Cemetery, Smithville. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House or Smithville United Church would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
