Obituary of Paul Gowling
Paul went to his heavenly forever home peacefully at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, knowing he was loved by his family, on Monday, July 29 at 2:30 pm.
Paul shared his life with his wife Anne, his children Vaughn, Kerry Lynne (Chris), Erin (Mark) and Leanne (Tyler). Loving “Papa Paul” to Jackson, Nick, Lana, Kent, Rylan and Jensyn. Paul’s memory will live on with his sister Gayla (Ted), cousins, family and long time friends, loving church family here and in Guelph.
He attended Saltfleet District High School; Erie Tech, Buffalo and Indianna Technical Institute, earning a Civil Engineer Diploma. He studied, (never too late) and received his Professional Engineer Licence in 2009.
Music was a passion for him, playing timpani and percussion in the High School Band, with the Tiger Cat Band and the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry Brass Band. Oh the stories he could tell...And the Banjo!!! Also an avid wood carver with the Hamilton Wood Carvers Club, being a member and judge.
Paul spent time working in Chicago, and then, with his much loved and respected father, at T.A. Gowling Construction. Later taking over that business. A highlight of his career was being an integral part of the Engineering Support Squadron to the Canadian Military in 2011.
Paul lived a full life; enjoyed many things, collected many things, thought on many things...And shared on many things. Paul will be deeply missed by all.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the care Paul received from the ladies and gents who came in every day and made our lives all the much better. And also to the staff at WLMH for their care and support during this challenging time. It’s been quite a journey, thank you!
