Obituary of Wendy Anne Colyn

Wendy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2024 at the age of 62. By God’s grace and infinite timing, she passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by Randy and their 4 children.

Wendy was a loving wife and best friend to her high school sweetheart Randy for 41 years. She was a wonderful mom to Jeremy and Jenelle VanderWier, Levi and Tarin Moesker, Braden Colyn and Jesse Colyn, and the most amazing Nana to her greatest blessings; Ari, Axl and Ivy VanderWier and Bryson, Noah, Carson, Aiden and Jude Moesker.

Wendy was the daughter of Tony † and Jenny † Vanderstelt and daughter in law of Allard † and Imie Colyn. Cherished sister to Art Vanderstelt †, Jennifer Hogeveen †, Lori Stavinga (Gary), Deb Wiebenga (Will) and sister-in-law to Karen Tigchelaar (Ken), Henry Colyn (Tonny) and Dan Colyn (Lynn). She was also a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Wendy was a blessing to many and made connections everywhere she went. She had a servant heart and enjoyed volunteering in her church and her children’s school. This eventually led to her becoming the office administrator at Cairn Christian School for the past 21 years, where her friendly smile and warm welcome was a blessing to all who entered the building. Over the past several years, Wendy and Randy enjoyed many fun adventures, travelling in their RV and enjoying God’s nature together.

The family will receive friends at the Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main St. E. Grimsby, on Friday May 17 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Please join us for a Celebration of Life at the church on Saturday May 18 at 11:00 am.
