Obituary of James Ellis Russell Park

On Monday, December 11, 2023, in his 73rd year, James “Jim” Ellis Russell Park passed away peacefully at McNally House Hospice. He will be missed by his wife of 47 years, Pauline Park. He was predeceased by his son Bradley (d. 2006) and is survived by his children Todd (Jodi) and Ashley (Lars). He was a loving Poppy and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Madison (Brysen), Nicholas (Aly), Logan, Mickayla, Katie (Evan), and Nathan. He is also survived by his siblings Ruth, Barbara, Sharon, and Reg, his cousin Darryll, and uncle John. Jim will also be extremely missed by the rest of his surviving family and friends. 

Being from Newfoundland, Jim always loved the East Coast; he loved the music and the seafood. He was at his happiest while playing the squeeze box and listening to his wife sing. He also loved animals, especially dogs, and could be found around the neighbourhood walking one of his dogs.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 16, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to McNally House Hospice would be appreciated and can be made through Merritt Funeral Home.
