Obituary of John Clark Tansley

Passed away peacefully at the Hospice Niagara on Tuesday Jan 17th, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years Marie (nee Dougall). John will forever be missed by his children Ken (April), Johnny (Sarah), Rick (Kim) and Tammy (Adam). Papa will also be fondly remembered by his grand children Owyn, Caitlin, Trystin (Tasha), Lucas, Joshua, Maddison, Vanessa, Wesley, Blake, Victoria (Dylan) and great grandchild Isaac. He is also survived by his sisters Karen (Wayne), Judy, his brothers Harold (Lea), Howard (Sandra) and David (Anne). He is predeceased by his parents David and Betty. His memory will also be cherished by his many nieces, nephews and his longtime friends. John was fortunate to have maintained a positive outlook during his fight and will be remembered as a hard working father who had the ability to make anyone laugh. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville. Family, friends and guests are welcome at the Smithville Legion on Saturday February 4th from 2pm to 5pm for a celebration of John’s life.
