Obituary of Kazimiera Janina Krasko

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kazimiera (Connie) Krasko, of Smithville, on November 9th, 2022 in her 89^th year. Predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Wladyslaw (Walter) (2000), mother Antonina (2000) and sister Stenia (2012). Loving mother and mother-in-law of Loretta and Tom Shields, John and Susan Krasko, Annette and Wayne Blythe, Sonya Ferguson, and Lisa and Roy Turcotte. Proud Babcia of Paula (Jason), Nicole (Matthew), Sarah, Daniel (Alexandra), Nicholas, Natalie, Valerie, Mitchell, Katrina, Victoria, Luke and Samantha. Prababcia to Charli, Xander, Andres, Emery, Audrey and baby on the way. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and her dear friends, including Krysia Podmokly, Gienia Marchalewicz, and Irene Podolak. Born in Porabka, Poland on April 28, 1934 to parents Stefan and Antonina Kryczek. Prior to World War II the family moved to Belgium. In 1953 Kazimiera immigrated to Canada with her mother and sister, where they settled in St. Catharines. Soon after, Kazimiera met the love of her life, Wladyslaw. They built their life together in Smithville where they operated a dairy farm and started growing their loving family. Often described as the energizer bunny, she was always on the go. When she wasn’t working, raising kids, or helping to manage the farm she could be found gardening, knitting, sewing, baking or cooking. Her family was spoiled with Polish cuisine including pierogi and cabbage rolls as well as unique creations of her own. Kazimiera’s home, known as “The Farm”, was the gathering place for many. It was understood by all who entered that there was “always room for one more”. She was devoted to her family as well as to St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, always lending a helping hand and taking care of others. Her loving, friendly and bubbly personality always shone through, right to the end. The family would like to extend their greatest thanks to the staff at Albright Manor for their care and compassion over the years. Visitation will take place at Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville from 5:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, November 13^th with a Vigil prayer service to be held at 5:30 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, Smithville on Monday, November 14th at 11:00 am, interment to follow.
