JANSSEN, WILLEMINA “Willy”: After courageously enduring the effects of cancer, God called to His Heavenly Home our dear Mother and Oma, Willy Janssen nee Fledderus on February 9th, 2022 in her 90th year. She is predeceased by her husband, John Janssen (2013) and grandson, Matthew A. Janssen (2008). She was beloved Mother to Henry (Barb), Albert (Lynn), Alan (Lisa), Renee (Ben) and Tina. She was Oma to 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was born in Diever, Holland on April 2, 1932. She immigrated to Canada with her parents and siblings in 1951. She married John Janssen on July 4, 1958. She is survived by her loving sister Anna Geerlinks and dear sister-in-law Rennie (George) Pot. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merrrit Funeral Home, Smithville. The family will be receiving guests at Wellandport United Reformed Church, 74082 Wellandport Rd, Wellandport on Sunday, February 13th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place Monday, February 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Wellandport United Reformed Church. Internment will take place prior to the service at Lane Cemetery, St. Ann’s on Monday, February 14th at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Condolences only please. Due to Covid-19 regulations and accordance with provincial regulations, face masks and social distancing will be required.
