SHIELDS, ELLEN ISABEL: Suddenly at home of heart failure in her eighty-fifth year. She is survived by her sister Jean of New York City, her double cousin Margaret Wilde of Toronto with her husband John, their children and grandchildren and her cousins Sam and George McGee, who live close by, their wives Sylvia and Elisabeth and their children and grandchildren and by other cousins. She had many friends and good neighbours. She was active in the community, helping at Caistorville United Church where she was a member of the UCW and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. She had good memories of her teaching at Canboro and S.S.No.2 and kept in touch with her students over the years. She was a member of the West Lincoln Retired Teachers Association and a long time member of the West Lincoln Historical Society. Now at peace, she is resting at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. There will be a Service at the Funeral Home at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 16 and burial in Caistorville United Church Cemetery. All are invited to share tea and memories at the church afterwards. Donations may be given to the Caistorville United Church Memorial Fund.
